GENERAL CONTRACTOR:
Lee Mechanical
Carthage College is a mainstay of the Kenosha, WI community, the hometown of Lee Mechanical, so the company was proud to be part of the $43 million renovation and expansion project in 2014.
This project included the makeover of the 70,000 sq. ft. David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Natural and Social Sciences and the creation of the 35,000-square-foot addition on the building’s south and east sides. According to Carthage staff, this project was set to “modernized research facilities, classrooms and study areas.”
A team of experienced Lee technicians were dedicated to the completion of the Straz renovation and buildout. They labored under tight deadlines and restricted working conditions, due the buildings proximity to the lake. Using Lee Mechanical’s expertise with 3D capabilities, along with Trimble scanners, the team was responsible for thousands of pipe penetrations and took the lead in the MEP to meet Carthage’s timeline and specifications.
