Inspiring the Next Generation at Lee Mechanical: Partnering with KUSD for Hands-On Trade Experience
At Lee Mechanical, we’re committed to shaping the future of construction while inspiring the next generation of skilled tradespeople. In the summer of 2024, we partnered with the Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD) and Riley Construction to host the Building Trade Careers Summer Camp. This week-long camp provided students with valuable, hands-on experience in the trades, offering them a glimpse into potential careers in construction and engineering.
Hands-On Learning: What the Students Built
Students entering grades 7, 8, and 9 participated in various hands-on projects at our Lee Mechanical facility including:
Building Skills and Exploring Careers
This camp provided more than just technical knowledge. It gave students the opportunity to experience what a career in the trades could look like. By working on real projects, they developed problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills—essential for success in the construction industry and beyond.
Our goal was to inspire students and show them the many possibilities available in the trades. Some of these students may even become the skilled workers and project leaders of the future.
A Special Thank You to Our Partners and Participants
We want to extend our thanks to KUSD, Riley Construction, and the students who made this camp a success. Their hard work and enthusiasm were truly inspiring. We’re proud to be part of a program that fosters learning, growth, and a curiosity for the trades.
At Lee Mechanical, we believe in building more than just structures—we’re helping to build the future, one student at a time.
