Lee Mechanical played a critical role in delivering high-performance mechanical systems for a significant data center expansion in Racine County, Wisconsin.

This particular phase added 200,000 square feet of infrastructure within an existing 1,000,000-square-foot facility and represents a key step in the site’s long-term growth.

Lee provided HVAC, plumbing, controls, fire protection, startup, and commissioning services, along with general conditions management. The team was tasked with building a new chiller plant to support 16 custom air handling units that modulate temperatures for 80 server test racks—critical for maintaining uptime and equipment performance in a high-demand data environment.

Over nine months, more than 35 skilled Lee team members brought this project to life, including sheet metal workers, steamfitters, plumbers, HVAC control technicians, sprinkler fitters, and service techs. One of the most notable challenges was the installation of 52,000-pound chillers, successfully, completed using a custom-fabricated equipment dolly designed specifically for the task.

This project is one of several large-scale data center developments Lee Mechanical has been entrusted with across Wisconsin, reinforcing the company’s reputation for delivering expertly coordinated MEPF solutions for mission-critical infrastructure.
