KEY TAKEAWAYS
This year’s Women in Construction Week theme was “Level Up,” and that’s exactly what we did at Lee Mechanical.
Throughout the week, we leveled up our collaboration, creativity, and appreciation for one another while taking time to celebrate the incredible women who contribute to our industry every day.
A big part of that celebration comes from our internal women’s group, S.H.E at Lee, which stands for Strength, Hard Work, and Empowerment. Founded by Angie Waechter in December 2025, the group was created to bring women at Lee together in meaningful ways. The goal is simple but powerful: to create a safe and supportive space where women can share ideas, build stronger connections, gain more experience in the field, and continue to grow, learn, and collaborate with one another. In just a few short months, the group has already started doing exactly that.

We kicked off Women in Construction Week on Monday by sponsoring a coffee cart from North Village Coffee for the entire team. It was a simple gesture that brought people together from across departments and gave everyone a chance to connect over a cup of coffee. Starting the week this way set a fun and collaborative tone that carried through the rest of our events.
On Wednesday evening, the group headed to Splash Studio, where our team put their paintbrushes to work for a night of creativity, food, and laughter. It was a fun experience to step outside of our usual routines and see everyone express themselves in a new way. One of the best parts of the evening was watching each person’s painting come together, with every piece completely unique and beautiful in its own way.
We wrapped up the week on Friday with a Lunch & Learn featuring Juliane Troicki, Ph.D, founder of the Illuminating Project, who presented “Building with Appreciation: Improve Safety, Trust, and Results.” Her presentation sparked meaningful conversations as she walked us through the difference between recognition and appreciation, reminded us of the “superpowers” we each bring to the workplace, and emphasized the importance of believing in ourselves and practicing positive self-talk. It was a wonderful afternoon of learning and connection, especially as team members from both the field and the office came together to participate.
Women in Construction Week
Women in Construction Week serves as an important reminder of the impact women make in this industry every single day. At Lee Mechanical, we’re incredibly proud to work alongside such strong, talented, and inspiring women who continue to raise the bar for our team and our industry.
