General Description

Lee Mechanical is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems to ensure the highest standards of safety and functionality for our clients. This role involves working on a variety of fire alarm systems while delivering exceptional customer service and technical expertise.

Core Responsibilities

Installation and Maintenance

  • Install, configure, and test fire alarm systems and related equipment according to company standards and client specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Diagnose and repair fire alarm system issues, including troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.

Technical Support and Service

  • Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting for clients experiencing system issues.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies to ensure effective resolution.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and repairs, including parts used.
  • Complete service reports in a timely manner for billing and follow-up.
  • Keep detailed logs of client interactions and service history.

Customer Service

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and build positive client relationships.
  • Educate clients on system operation, features, and maintenance best practices.
  • Ensure all work meets high quality and safety standards, representing Lee Mechanical professionally.

Compliance and Safety

  • Follow all safety protocols and industry regulations.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and alarm system best practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical certification or training in fire alarm systems, electronics, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience as a fire alarm technician or similar technical role.
  • Strong understanding of fire alarm components, wiring, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET certification or related training.
  • Basic knowledge of AC/DC circuitry associated with low-voltage systems.
  • Basic experience with electrical or fire alarm systems.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based with occasional travel to job sites.
