Safety Coordinator
General Description
Lee Mechanical, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Construction Safety Coordinator. The Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with all OSHA regulations and safety-related laws under the direction of Lee Mechanical Safety Director. Experience working with trenching/excavations, fall protection, aerial lifts, electrical safety, PPE, LOTO, Haz-com, First Aid/CPR/AED, is a must. The Safety Coordinator should have experience in the following: accident investigation, daily permits, JHA/STA, recordkeeping, other safety equipment/machines, and processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Minimum 5 years Occupational Health and Safety experience
- CPR, First Aid, AED certified
- OSHA 30 hour within last 2 years
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and basic principles of safety/risk management and training.
- Exposure to various construction environments and ability to occasionally climb stairs and ladders, bend, grasp, reach, crouch, walk on uneven surfaces, work in extreme temperature environments, and wear any necessary personal protective equipment, including but not limited to, hearing protection, hard hats, safety glasses, safety toed footwear, etc.
- Excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to speak and present information at safety meetings and incident investigations
- Written communication skills, including the ability to write reports, permits, hazard analysis, and other correspondence.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with Safety Director, Foreman, Project Managers, and Supervisors.
- Ability to effectively organize, plan, coordinate, communicate and implement safety programs and training
- Ability to function well under pressure, including during critical incident events involving employees and equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with demonstrated safe driving record is required.
