Project Spotlight: WestRock Corrugated Operations Hub

Lee Mechanical was proud to be a part of the construction of WestRock’s new corrugated box plant in Pleasant Prairie, a build-to-suit facility developed by Dermody Properties. This project marks a major milestone for both WestRock and Wisconsin’s newest rail-served logistics park, supporting the growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions in the Great Lakes region.

As a design-assist partner, Lee Mechanical provided comprehensive electrical services to support this state-of-the-art, 580,000+ sq. ft. advanced manufacturing facility. Our team worked collaboratively to ensure seamless integration with WestRock’s high-tech automation and sustainability goals.

This high-performance manufacturing hub showcases our team’s ability to deliver complex, large-scale industrial projects with aggressive timelines and precision requirements.

Project Highlights:

  • Design-assist completion in just 9 months, including early procurement in January 2024 of three 4000-amp, 480/277-volt main switchboard services to meet a 40-week delivery window—critical to maintaining the overall project timeline.

  • 400-amp electrical service installed for ESFR fire pump sprinkler system, enhancing facility safety.

  • Value-engineered LED lighting solutions throughout the building and site to support energy efficiency and sustainability goals.

  • Complete fire alarm and notification system designed and installed.

  • 45’ clear height to accommodate WestRock’s advanced mechanical installations and high-volume product storage needs.

  • The facility includes indoor rail access and four rail storage sidings to accommodate delivery of 120″ wide, 3-ton paper rolls used in corrugated cardboard production.
