Project Spotlight: Lee Mechanical’s Electrical Installation at WestRock Facility

The WestRock facility, led by Riley Construction, is a nearly 600,000-square-foot building with an integrated rail line for convenient on-site loading and unloading of train cars. Lee Mechanical’s role in this large-scale project involves design-assist electrical installation for the core and shell.

This project presents unique challenges due to overhead work requirements, as most conduit and feeder installations need to be set at a 40-foot clear height. Through BIM coordination, our team is optimizing labor and planning efforts to ensure a seamless and safe installation.

Project Scope and Highlights:

  • Electrical Services: Installation of three 4000-amp, 480/277-volt electrical services with a dedicated fire pump service to support facility safety.

  • Office Power & Lighting: Complete power and lighting installation within office spaces.

  • Exterior Lighting: Roadway lighting and wall packs, ensuring compliance with village and code photometric requirements.

  • Natural Gas Generator Installation: Power backup via a natural gas generator with two automatic transfer switches (ATSs).

  • Interior Lighting: Comprehensive interior lighting throughout the facility, including photometric plans and egress path lighting powered by the generator system.

  • Fire Alarm System: Full fire alarm installation meeting both State and Village of Pleasant Prairie requirements.

Lee Mechanical is proud to collaborate on this significant build, supporting Dermody Properties and Riley Construction in delivering a facility that meets high standards of safety, efficiency, and functionality.
