Angie Waechter joined Lee Mechanical in 2025 as a Construction Manager in Fire Protection and quickly became known for leading with integrity, collaboration, and purpose. With more than two decades of experience in the fire protection industry, she brings a calm, disciplined approach to complex projects and a people-first mindset to every jobsite. Her leadership is being recognized by BizTimes Milwaukee in the “How She Leads” section of the August 19, 2025, issue!

Angie’s leadership style is relational, collaborative, and goal-oriented. She believes the best outcomes happen when teams feel safe to contribute, have clear goals, and know their work matters. Three lessons guide her day to day: you cannot control others, only your response; confidence builds momentum through small, intentional steps; and the best leaders create open, engaging spaces where people can thrive.

Her faith is at the center of how she leads. Inspired by the example of Jesus—listening, providing, and understanding—she strives to act with consistency and compassion in both decisions and relationships. She also credits speaker Michelle Poler, founder of Hello Fears, for helping her reframe risk and discomfort. After hearing Poler, Angie completed a 100-day gratitude challenge and adopted the question, “What’s the best that can happen?” as a practical tool for courage and clarity.

One of her most unexpected leadership breakthroughs came when she stopped expecting others to operate the way she does. Letting go of that assumption brought freedom and focus, especially when plans change. It also sharpened her ability to meet people where they are and keep projects moving with respect and accountability.

Angie’s favorite part of working at Lee is the people and the supportive, collaborative environment where colleagues want one another to succeed. While she notes that many female leaders still work for a fair seat at the table and equal voice, she has already seen a culture of respect and listening at Lee that sets a positive standard.

Her path is grounded in continuous learning. She is a graduate of Campbellsport High School and holds an associate’s degree in civil engineering/structural. She is NICET Level III certified, a graduate of the MCAA Advanced Institute of Project Management, and holds a Sprinkler Layout and Design Certificate from NFSA, a Dale Carnegie Women’s Leadership Academy Certificate, and OSHA 10 Certification. Her industry recognition includes the AGC Greater Milwaukee Chairman of the Year Award (2017), the Illuminating Women Award (2022), and the Erickson/Strong Scholarship (2024). She remains active in the profession and community as a past president of the AGC of Greater Milwaukee CLC, a committee member of the LCI Fox Valley Chapter, and an active member of her church.
