A Day in the Life with Heather Ladwig

Heather Ladwig, Controller

Heather Ladwig is the Controller at Lee Mechanical, where nearly five years overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll have made accurate financial data and dependable deadlines part of the daily routine. No two days look the same, but the focus stays constant: keeping the financial side of every project running smoothly and supporting the accounting team. What Heather enjoys most is problem solving, digging into issues and building new processes that make the department more efficient and prevent problems down the road.

"Lee Mechanical is a place where your work matters. You have the opportunity to grow and contribute to the success of the company."

Some of my main responsibilities are overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
No two days are the same. My overall focus is ensuring accurate financial data, meeting deadlines, and supporting my accounting team.
My team's role is to ensure that the financial side of every project runs smoothly by providing reliable financial information.
My favorite part of the job is problem solving. Every day brings a new challenge. I like digging into issues, finding a new process, and putting that new process into place to prevent further issues.
Something I've learned throughout my career is that continuous improvement is essential. There's always opportunity to make your department more efficient and more effective.
What makes Lee different from other companies I've worked with is the culture, the people, and the focus on doing things the right way.
I would tell someone that Lee Mechanical is a place where your work matters. You have the opportunity to grow and contribute to the success of the company.
