“Build it and they will come” is how Lee Mechanical’s Sheet Metal Division Manager, Matt Krahn, approached his day in the shop.

 “It is my goal to build the strongest sheet metal division, with depth in ALL of our departments including industrial, commercial, and testing and balancing, in order for us to be a more valuable asset to our customers,” he stated.

Krahn began his career in the sheet metal industry in the late 90s. His experience includes working as a general foreman, a senior project manager, and a sheet metal department manager. He has been a member of the Local 18 since 1995, and his training includes Fire Life Safety and WHEA Healthcare Construction.

Krahn enjoys the challenge of his position and the absolute confidence Lee’s management has in its employees. “I like finding new ways to successfully execute a project while still maintaining today’s aggressive schedules and project restraints while not sacrificing quality,” he shared. “In my mind, what makes Lee stand out is the confidence management has in our team – in allowing us to make crucial decisions in order to be as responsive and efficient as we can be.”

Krahn also appreciates the dedication and camaraderie of the Lee team. Like many other Lee employees, one of his favorite parts of working with the Lee team is the overall excitement within the company. “It’s nice to see a group of individuals who take such pride in being part of an actual team and support each other in the way that we do.”

When Krahn is not working on a Lee project, you can find him on the soccer field with his kids or traveling with his fiancé. You might even find his family on their favorite lake, enjoying some fishing and water sports.
