Project Overview
Centro Sperimentale del Latte USA Inc. (CSL), an Italian manufacturer of probiotics and other dietary supplements, has partnered with Lee Mechanical to open its first U.S. location in Caledonia, WI.
Working through its affiliated Wisconsin LLC, ProBio RE, CSL is opening a 65,000 sq. ft. facility on approximately 10 acres of a 25-acre site in the Caledonia Business Park. This $40 million project includes 10,000 sq. feet of office space and 55,000 sq. feet of production and freezer space.
CSL is a family-owned company founded in 1948. Prior to this location, they primarily served Italy and the European Union.
Attracted to the area by the workforce availability, the Milwaukee area cluster of food and beverage businesses, and proximity to major customers in the Midwest, this location is scheduled to employ over 30 individuals in 2022, with a total of 40 by 2024.
“Wisconsin is known as a leader in the dairy industry, and we are proud to welcome a global company like Centro Sperimentale del Latte to our great state,” said Mark Hogan, WEDC secretary, and CEO. “This investment is the latest example of the many companies choosing to establish or expand operations in Wisconsin because of our strong business climate and dedicated workforce.”
By taking advantage of Lee’s BIM in-house capabilities and daily/weekly planning sessions with the client and other contractors, Lee technicians and project managers could adhere to strict project deadlines. Working closely with General Contractor Scherrer Construction, Burlington, WI, and architect Excel Engineering, Fond du Lac, WI, Lee Mechanical was responsible for the project’s HVAC, plumbing, sheet metal, and piping.
