Supporting our local community is key to Lee Mechanical. Our team is proud to collaborate with other local trades on the dog room expansion and remodel for the Safe Harbor Humane Society in Kenosha, WI.
This almost 8,000 square-foot update will provide the shelter, its volunteers, and the animals with much-needed space and facility amenities. Updates include:
- Larger kennels
- Indoor play area
- Small animal bungalow
- Separate public clinic spaces
- Animal bathing areas
- Foster care facilities
- And more
Working closely with General Contractor Rasch Construction, with architectural work by Partners in Design, this $1.5 million project began in the fall of 2020. A dozen highly trained Lee technicians dedicated their time and skills in the area of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
This project offered unique challenges, but the Lee team thrives on turning challenges into accomplishments. The Lee technicians take pride in their outstanding capabilities and the opportunity to help animals in the local community for this particular project.
“Our team was able to provide considerable value, high-quality craftsmanship, and our outstanding MEP system to Safe Harbor,” stated Lee’s Vice President-Mechanical, Ken Ahler. “And we did so all while maintaining the project’s budget and schedule.”
Lee professionals leveraged:
- In-house CAD and coordination services
- Design-Build for electrical, HVAC, and plumbing
- Advanced Trimble Layout technology to analyze and solve specific project issues
“The importance of this renovation cannot be understated. Our original building was constructed in 1983, and since then, almost every part of our facility has seen an update in one way or another – except the dog kennels. While our current setup was deemed appropriate and acceptable back then, today we have much greater aspirations for the care of our animals.”
