My name is Aaron Gahan, and I’m a steam fitter here at Lee Mechanical. I’ve been in the trade for several years and enjoy working on projects that keep buildings running safely and efficiently.

Most of my work involves installing and maintaining piping systems for heating, cooling, and other high-pressure applications. These systems are critical for commercial and industrial facilities, and no two jobs are ever quite the same.

A day usually starts with reviewing the plans and checking in with the crew. From there, it could be measuring, cutting, and fitting pipe, or troubleshooting a system that needs repairs. Steam fitting requires precision, so every step has to be carefully planned and executed.

I like the problem-solving side of it. Every project brings a new challenge, and working through those challenges with the team is what makes the job rewarding.

I rely on welding equipment, pipe cutters, and modern measuring tools. Technology has come a long way, and it helps us work faster and safer, but the hands-on skills are still just as important.

At Lee, there’s a real sense of teamwork. Everyone is willing to step in and help, and the leadership gives you the support and trust to do your job well. That makes a big difference day to day.
