"I like that my work in the model makes things easier and more efficient for the guys out in the field."

My name is Mike Gallo, and I’m a Plumbing BIM Modeler at Lee Mechanical. I’ve been with the company for several years, using technology to help bring projects to life.
I work on large commercial and industrial projects where coordination is critical. My role is to model plumbing systems so they fit seamlessly with mechanical, electrical, and structural components before construction even begins.
My day usually starts with reviewing project drawings and coordinating with other trades. From there, I spend time in the model, making adjustments, solving clashes, and ensuring everything lines up the way it should for installation.
I enjoy the problem-solving aspect — figuring out how to make everything fit together in a way that works for both the project and the crew in the field.
I work primarily in Revit and Navisworks for 3D modeling and clash detection. These tools help us catch problems before construction starts, which saves time and money.
At Lee, there’s strong collaboration between the office and the field. Everyone is focused on the same goal — making the project successful — and that teamwork really shows.
They’re dedicated and knowledgeable. Whether it’s other modelers, project managers, or field crews, everyone is committed to doing quality work and helping each other out.
I like that it blends technology with real-world construction. It’s rewarding to see something I modeled on a screen turn into a system that works in the field.
