Why Fire Equipment Service Matters

Fire extinguishers are often the first line of defense in an emergency. Regular inspection and service help:

Ensure extinguishers are accessible and in working condition

Maintain compliance with inspection requirements

Identify damaged, discharged, or outdated units

Keep records organized and up to date

Support overall life safety readiness

A structured extinguisher program helps eliminate last-minute issues and improves consistency across inspections.

Fire Extinguisher Inspection and Service

Lee provides practical, recurring service support to help customers maintain dependable extinguisher programs. Service capabilities include:

Annual fire extinguisher maintenance to NFPA 10

Retagging and documentation

Identification of units requiring additional service

Replacement planning for outdated or damaged units

Program organization and ongoing support

This approach focuses on making extinguisher service easier to manage over time—not just completing a one-time inspection.

Design · Kitchen Hood Systems

Kitchen Hood Suppression Systems

Kitchen hood systems are engineered for each kitchen. Lee designs them with full calculations and nozzle placement specific to your cooking line, then handles the complete installation and ongoing service. NFPA 96 calls for service by a trained, certified technician at least every six months, and your staff should also do a quick monthly check.

Built for restaurants, commercial kitchens, and food service operations.

Installation

Adding Fire Equipment as Your Building Changes

Extinguisher and exit light locations are usually set by the architect when a building is designed, but buildings change. Lee installs and adds equipment as your needs change, including:

  • Additional fire extinguishers where coverage is needed
  • Exit signs and emergency lighting
  • Replacement of failed or outdated units
  • Kitchen hood suppression system installation

New equipment is tagged, documented, and added to your inspection program.

Installation · Emergency & Exit Lighting

Emergency and Exit Lighting

Emergency and exit lights guide people out of a building when it matters most. Lee supports:

  1. Inspection and testing of emergency and exit lighting
  2. Repair and replacement of failed units
  3. Adding exit and emergency lighting as building needs change

NFPA 101 requires emergency and exit lighting to be tested monthly for at least 30 seconds, and battery units annually for 90 minutes. Lee can handle the testing, add units after construction as your building changes, and give you the written records the code asks you to keep.

Inspection

Inspection & Testing for All of Your Fire Equipment

Each type of fire equipment has its own inspection schedule. Lee keeps them on one calendar:

  • Fire extinguishers: annual maintenance to NFPA 10, plus monthly checks your staff can do
  • Emergency and exit lighting: monthly and annual testing under NFPA 101
  • Kitchen hood systems: service at least every six months under NFPA 96 and NFPA 17A
  • Written records to show your fire official

One team, one schedule, and one set of records for all of your fire equipment.

Inspection · Extended Maintenance

Coordinated Service for Extended Maintenance

Certain extinguisher services—such as internal maintenance or hydrostatic testing—require specialized processes. When needed, Lee coordinates these services through qualified partners while continuing to manage:

Long-Term Support

Managing Units That Require Additional Service

Some fire extinguishers require deeper service at defined intervals or after use. Lee helps identify and manage those situations, including:

Units due for extended maintenance intervals

Discharged extinguishers needing replacement

Damaged or non-compliant units
Aging equipment that should be replaced

A proactive approach helps ensure coverage is maintained without disruption.

Long-Term Support · Swap-Out & Replacement

Swap-Out and Replacement Support

When extinguishers require additional service or replacement, maintaining coverage is critical. Lee supports:

  1. Replacement of discharged or damaged extinguishers
  2. Swap-out programs for units requiring extended service
  3. Efficient transition between removal and replacement

This helps prevent gaps in coverage and keeps systems aligned with life safety expectations.

Long-Term Support · Documentation

Organization, Documentation, and Visibility

A well-managed fire equipment program depends on clear records and consistent tracking. Lee’s approach includes:

  • Organized inspection records
  • Clear identification of service needs
  • Structured tracking of units and service intervals
  • Practical recommendations for maintaining compliance

This creates a more predictable and manageable system over time.

Already have a system but unsure of next steps?

Lee can review system conditions, identify performance concerns, evaluate inspection findings, and plan upgrades or replacements.

Long-Term Support · Proactive Programs

A Proactive Approach to Fire Equipment Programs

Waiting until extinguishers are due—or after they are used—can create unnecessary urgency.

A proactive program helps:

Catch issues early

Reduce last-minute replacements

Maintain consistent compliance

Simplify annual inspections
