Project Overview

Skogen’s Festival Foods is growing, and Lee Mechanical has helped make that possible at over ten stores.

Skogen’s Festival Foods opened its first family grocery store in Onalaska in 1946. In 1990, they migrated to the large-story grocery format with their first Festival Foods.

Since then, Skogen has expanded their reach, most recently purchasing three Trig’s stores located in Weston, Wausau, and Stevens Point, Wisconsin, respectively. This brings the Skogen family of stores to 39 full-service supermarkets in Wisconsin.

Lee Mechanical, no stranger to working with Festival Foods, is on board to help two of the locations (Wausau and Stevens Point) shine with new updates.

“We are proud to partner with Festival Foods on our tenth store,” shared Lee Mechanical President and CEO, Bob Lee.

The renovation of the Trig’s stores began in 2022 and will include a complete overhaul of the existing locations. Lee Mechanical worked closely with John’s Refrigeration and general contractor Rodac Construction & Development on each location’s details.

Lee’s expert team of plumbers and electricians will be responsible for all the refrigeration, lighting, and plumbing tasks, including:

  • Washroom upgrades
  • Relocation of all deli, bakery, meat, floral, and produce cases
  • Refrigeration pits
  • Refrigeration wiring
  • New grease trap
  • Upgrading of the reverse osmosis system
  • LED lighting upgrades throughout the store

For both stores, Lee Mechanical employees and other contractors are working around different schedules, space issues, and noise considerations.

“We are experts in what we do and always enjoy a challenge,” shared Lee Project Manager, Ron Morris. “Working on renovations such as these, while each store is still operational, certainly adds a different level of required attention and focus.”
